We have many opportunities for children to connect to Jesus and each other here at CHS. Our children are shamelessly taught the word of God and often serve as examples of how we are supposed to walk out our faith.
He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me." - Matthew 18:2-5
Nursery
Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these … you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
A safe, loving environment is provided for our very youngest members from infant through 2 years old with a paid staff that is professionally trained. Whether at worship, a life group meeting or study, you can feel confident that your child is safe and secure. Each child and parent receives a numbered, vibrating pager that enables the staff to notify you immediately if your child should need you. This pager must be matched at check-in/check-out.
God’s love is shared through song, interactive care, and stories.
Preschool
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
An exciting preschool ministry is available for children ages 3 through pre-Kindergarten. They learn about themselves and others as part of God's miraculous, perfect plan. The preschool team of professionally trained staff and gifted CHS members who have a ministry heart for children provide lessons and activities that inspire!
Sunday mornings
Get connected on Sunday mornings from 8:30-9:45 a.m. in Children's Church, or from 11:00-12:00 noon in Wee Worship. Each week, a lesson "hooks" a topic into the child's experience, tells a Bible story, and reinforces the point using crafts, games or other activities. Sunday School classes are offered from 10-10:45 a.m. These provide children with an opportunity to delve deeper into the basics of the faith by studying key people and events throughout the entire Bible. Teachers give a lesson, facilitate activities and serve a snack each week. Parents extend the lesson with ideas shared via email and home Bible verse memorization.
Sunday Evenings
Beginning at age 4, children are invited to attend Sunday Night Live!, where a small group of children of similar ages are taught by two or more adult leaders. Weekly Bible study, meaningful Scripture memory, and fun life-skills activities make each meeting memorable and full of variety. The program creates the perfect environment for developing healthy relationships with peers, Christian adults, and ultimately, Jesus Christ. We will be utilizing the Pioneer Club Scooters program, the goal of which is genuine life-transformation!
